Results of
2008 Kindergarten Admissions Test Released
The names of 104
children who qualified for kindergarten admissions for AY
2008-2009 was released today. This year 1575 children took
the admissions test which was administered from
April 2-11. UPIS is only allowed to admit
100 students at Kindergarten based on rank in the admissions
test with a 5% leeway for tied scores. Sixty percent of those admitted should be children of University personnel.
This year, 110 out of the 1575 applicants were children of

Honors Outstanding Students
In
rites held on March 11, 12, and 14 2008, UPIS honored its
outstanding students for academic year 2007-2008. The awards
consisted of academic excellence in the various disciplines,
model student and leadership awards. Gracing the occasion as
guest speaker was Dr. Glecy C. Atienza of the UP College of
Arts and Letters Filipino Department. [read more]
UPIS Updates Curriculum Last
November 7, 2007, the UPIS Faculty voted to update the 32-year old curriculum framework of UPIS.
In the original framework, products of the curriculum
had three possible destinations - university
education, vocational/technical education, and

Who
will be the next UPIS Principal? Four candidates have
been nominated to be Principal of UPIS. They are Dr. Atienza from
CAL, Dr. Manzano from the CoEd, Dr. Veneracion from the CSSP, and Dr. Zuniga
from UPIS. [read more]
The UPIS is in need of a high school mathematics
teacher. The applicant must be a BSE Mathematics graduate with no
failing grade in any of his/her mathematics courses. For interested
parties, submit an application letter accompanied by your CV and
Transcript of records to the Office of the Principal.

Summer Office Hours
As per the suggestion contained in Memorandum No.
PERR-08-07, UPIS will be open for business from 7:30AM-6:30PM Tuesdays
to Friday only. This schedule shall be followed for the months of April and May 2008.
