2008 Kindergarten Admissions Test Released
Tonio Ocampo (05.03.2008)
The names of 104 children who qualified for kindergarten admissions for AY 2008-2009 was released today. This year 1575 children took the admissions test which was administered from April 2-11. UPIS is only allowed to admit 100 students at Kindergarten based on rank in the admissions test with a 5% leeway for tied scores. Sixty percent of those admitted should be children of University personnel. This year, 110 out of the 1575 applicants were children of University personnel.
Four applicants who were children of UP personnel tied for the last 2 slots allotted to them. As such, the UPIS accept all 4. On the other hand, 26 applicants who were children of non-UP personnel tied for the last 7 remaining slots allotted to children of non-UP personnel. However, since the slots allotted to children of University personnel was increased by 2 due to ties (total of 62), 2 slots were also added for children of non-UP personnel (total of 42). As is the practice in similar situations, the 9 remaining slots for children of non-UP personnel were raffled off. The lottery was held on April 23, 2008. The parents of these 26 applicants were all invited to attend the lottery. One parent who could not make it was included in the lottery just the same.
Those who are on the list of qualified applicants have been notified via snail mail. If your letter hasn't arrived, you can get a copy of your notification letter from the Office of the Principal (c/o Mrs. Lita Capones). The letter has an attached intent-to-enroll form which should be submitted not later than May 9, 2008. Failure to submit the said form will mean forfeiture of the slot.
Those not on the list will receive their notification via snail mail as well.
