UPIS Back Online
Tonio Ocampo (10.03.2007)
After several months offline, the UPIS Network is again connected to the outside world. The problem started more than 2 months ago when an electrical storm shorted out the hub at the College of Home Economics Pilot Food Plant. This is where UPIS connects to the Diliman Network and the rest of the world.
As usual, government red tape bogged down the replacement of the said hub. As of press time, the connection is still not at its optimum. The UPCHE PFP apparently purchased the wrong hub - it has no port for fiber-optic cable.
